A famous, chivalrous and elegant Pirate

On one occasion a merchant ship, en route to Africa, was captured by a pirate ship. These pirates seized his ship. This pilot was caught and taken to the pirate ship. Despite his repeated refusal, he was forced by the demands of the Pirate Captain to become just another pirate.

Very soon the Captain of this ship died, in a fight against the natives of an island.
The pirates in assembly decide to choose a new Captain. It is chosen like new captain, John Roberts. The same pilot who was forced to be a pirate shortly before.
John Roberts agrees, but changes his name to Bartholomew and starts piracy.
He very soon he would become famous. He would become the pirate who would capture the most ships, even though he always tried to avoid violence.
On his boat he made all the rules. For example, games of chance, such as dice or cards, were prohibited. He would not allow blaspheming either, nor did he let the pirates fight each other.
He always cared about his physical appearance, in addition to being polite and well dressed. He already had an enviable appearance, because he was tall and well built.
Much appreciated by his people, he organized music concerts on his ship. Trying to improve his crew, he also did not allow alcoholic beverages, something unusual for a pirate at that time.

The moral of this story
